Ah know it's his constitutional right to have a gun, but gawlly, ah been teachin' him firearm safety ever since he was three, not too long after ah taught him to fetch me a Pabst Blue Ribbon out of the fridge.

1. You are well-named. I suppose I should thank you know for making me chuckle at least...
... as I suspect I won't have the opportunity to thank you for very much longer.

He would probably prefer being an orphan.

10. 8-year-old children have no constitutional rights
But if you want to act like an irresponsible dumbfuck, I support your right to do so.

14. gobsmacked,

I say, gobsmacked.

A never-ending source of gobsmacking gobsmackers, this gun dungeon is.

"8-year-old children have no constitutional rights"

Yeah. That's why it isn't a crime to kill 'em and they may be locked away in cellars until they turn, what, 18?

At what age does an individual grow constitutional rights in the U.S.?

Is the definition that applies to the word "person" where it appears in your Constitution somehow different from what it means in every other context? "Human beings over the age of eight", or something like that?

My gob has been smacked enough for tonight, I think. This one just takes the cake.

11. Thanks for the sterotyping.
Ah know it's his constitutional right to have a gun, but gawlly, ah been teachin' him firearm safety ever since he was three, not too long after ah taught him to fetch me a Pabst Blue Ribbon out of the fridge.

Lesee, how many stereotypes can I count here: 1) stupid/careless 2) Southern, 3) uneducated, 4) alcoholic.

Nice.

Welcome to DU.

12. I'm Sorry. I guess the point I was trying to make is that
if you are shot by your 8-year old child, ala the recent Arizona homicide case, then you are not just a bad parent, you are an irresponsible MORON!

13. And that is probably about 1/10 as common as being zapped by lightning, I suspect.

Having said that, one wonders if there is more to the story here than is being widely reported.

FYI:
