Thanks to all here, and here is another PRO GUN LINK!!!!!
Just found this while Googling "pro-gun liberals", and it seems to be of some interest to those of us good Democrats who respect the entire US Constitution : www.theliberalgunclub.com/

I will be taking a short vacation from DU at this time, and I thank you all for the interesting time I have had here.

1. interesting
I don't agree on their stance to reinstate the magazine capacity ban, or implement a waiting period but other than that looks top notch.

3. ???
Waiting periods? Magazine bans? These guys seem to be "pro-gun" in the same way that Senator DeMint is "pro-union."

4. They lost me
I don't agree with their position:

--------
3. A return to a Large Capacity Magazine limit imposed by the expired Assault Weapons Ban. However, unlike the original 10 round limit, we believe that a 20 round limit would be reasonable.
--------

Everything seemed fine for a minute, but then I bumped into that.

5. The 25% figure...
It's mentioned that assault weapons were used in 25% of gun crimes before the ban. For years I've been hearing less than 3%. Am I missing a key nuance here or are there different criteria?

Rep Shumer's report (the source of the 25% claim) was based on ATF trace data.

Thing is, cops were more likely to trace 'unusual' looking weapons. ATF even told congress at the hearings that the figures were being misrepresented. That's one reason for the tihardt amendment that says ATF trace data can't be used for 'fishing' expiditions.
