"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group or by any controlling private power."--FDR
I found the above as your signature line on 11-13-03. As we know, FDR signed the GCA 1934 into law, which required a tax stamp of $200 to transfer a FA weapon. However, that has really little to do with the question I wish to ask. If fascism were to rear it's ugly head, what would you do to fight back? Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that you are against the private ownership of firearms. If the people were to have no arms, what is to stop the government from becoming tyrannical?

An appropriate question for all gun grabbers. We only truly have democracy if government fears the people.

I can;t think of a better illustration of FDR's warning than the currrent disgraceful attempt by the GOP to protect the corrupt gun industry from liability for its actions.

that any answers you might give run the risk of exposing the falsity of your positions. Or do you just not know?

11. Why are you afraid to answer the following? |
|
"The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group or by any controlling private power."--FDR

"If fascism were to rear it's ugly head" You mean like that pushed by your fellow NRA life member John AshKKKroft and his dimwitted drunk fuehrer, the NRA's favorite president ever?
Like I said, there's no better illustration of what FDR was warning about than the GOP putting the corrupt gun industry beyond the reach of liability laws. And the "gun rights" dimwits who are always pissing their pants over "the government" are cheering that bit of fascism all the way.
But then, it wasn't a gun control rally where armed morons were actually parading in public wearing Nazi uniforms, was it?

14. Is that your "Word of the Week" |
|
Last week, it was painting every gun owner as a "Racist". This week, is it going to be the same, substituting "Fascist" instead?
What's next?

Yes, I'm appalled! How dare the gun industry actually manufacture and sell safe and functional firearms in compliance with federal and state laws! Let's sue!
And after that, we can sue Ford because a drunk driver used one of their pickups to kill a teenager! It's Ford's fault that the truck could be driven -- poorly -- by an intoxicated driver. Ford should include a mysterious, non-existant high-tech device in every vehicle that prevents its operation by an intoxicated driver. If we can put a man on the moon, Ford can put a mysterious, non-existant high-tech device in every car!
