"PD: Bullets hit houses as Valley man shoots at car thief"
This is why gun owners are stereotyped as psychotic idiots.

"PHOENIX – Power to a Phoenix neighborhood was knocked out and two homes were hit by bullets after a man tried to stop his car from being stolen by firing at a thief, police said Wednesday.

According to police, the 28-year-old man saw his car being stolen in the area of Peoria and 35th avenues around 5:30 p.m.

He then decided to take action.

"When he came out of the house he came out shooting a weapon up in the air and toward the direction the vehicle might have been going," said Officer Luis Samudio with the Phoenix Police Department.

Samudio said the man fired six shots at the would-be thief and four of those bullets hit nearby houses.

Witnesses said four kids were nearby and had to jump to the ground for safety when the bullets started flying."

:wtf: What a fucking moron.

1. Crimestoppers in action
Thank dog for our 2nd amendment rights. Otherwise the thief might have gotten clean away.

2. I think it was just a dumbass in action.
Someone with half a brain and a proper understanding of self-defense would know not to do what that guy did.

4. Well of course that becomes kind of a big deal
if everyone is armed.

13. Bingo...
...this guy violated several of the most basic rules of firearm safety. He's a total bonehead, and I hope he does a little time to figure out how stupidly he acted.

7. eyeroll

Samudio said the 28-year-old has yet to return to his home, but when he does, he could face charges.

A case of police understatement, I trust.

10. I'd arrest him...
if I were on the call. Discharging a firearm into an inhabited dwelling would be a good start for the list of charges.

12. You are liable for where your bullets end up
even if you are using them in self-defense (not that this was).

So yeah, idiot, didn't think through his plan. Better to buy a new car than face negligent manslaughter charges.
