Book - Gun Stories (Young Adult)
Edited on Fri Jul-10-09 04:22 PM by Xela
Came across this one recently: "Gun Stories".

Neat format of interviews/photo essay of young adults in America and the impact of firearms in their lives. Kinda like the recent "Armed America", but maybe closer to the 1980's classic "Gun People" (Patrick Carr).

I'm finding it surprisingly balanced (I'd dare say it's way better than Caitlin Kelly's "Blown Away").

It's intended for a young adult readership, but I think all audiences would find it interesting.

Enjoy,

Xela

2. Does it show youngsters whose heads were impacted by bullets?

3. Long ago and far away, I had a child's book about hunting with guns...
The characters were a father "bear" and his cub. They took the place of Inuits and used their kayaks in the polar regions to hunt animals with old flint locks. A little hokey and definitely anthropomorphized, but it gave hunting and killing for food a fair shake. I wonder if there are any more books like that?
