Deputy's alleged shooter finally caught in Mexico nine years later

His partner, Timberlake, tried to stop a van carrying Preciado and three others for having only one headlight.
There was a brief chase and the van came to an abrupt halt. Then Preciado, a documented gang member, allegedly opened a door and blasted 21 rounds from an automatic AK-47 assault rifle. One of the bullets traveled through the police cruiser's window and into the right side of Schaap's forehead.

It’s worth noting occasionally that death isn’t the only result of a shooting.
This particular incident also is one that whether or not the reporter is accurate regarding the AK47 being auto is of little concern to those in favor of renewing the assault weapons ban.
Only one of 21 rounds fired, (almost killed) caused the life altering damage this man , his family and friends had to endure.
