I'm posting this for no reason whatsoever. But anyone whose anti-aircraft weapon of choice is a .22 pistol deserves some kind of recognition.....

:silly:

1. Fulton, MO used to be
where a State Mental Institution was located. When I was on a three month rotation in Missouri for my Psych training we took a visit there and it was one very scary place. I hope that this woman has to go to court for this. They really didn't go into any information about calling the police.

4. More likely it was a crop duster,
flying just above her house, blowing her chimney bricks loose to tumble down on the roof, then pulling up late while still releasing his poison meant for the neighbor's soybeans! over her house and her (previously) organic garden, then laughing at her and giving her the bird on his second pass as she stood in her doorway shaking her fist at him.

Ummm, did I say that out loud?

Wat

5. You're Probably Right
I myself have personally downed three crop dusters using a Colt Woodsman.

according to aero-news.net. That's something about halfway between a traditional ultralight and something like a Cessna 152, as I understand it.

.50 Caliber Bolt action rifle.......You know those things, shoot down airliners....According to Caroline "ban things that go up" McCarthy.

ROFLMAO!!!

Is that the "heatseeking bullet" woman in the background??? ROFLMAO!!

And here she is, in her natural element, in front of a microphone and a TV Camera, with her mouth spuing nonsense.

7. Somewhere, I can sort of sympathize
There's an airfield down in the valley from my house, and I get light aircraft coming over my house all the damn time. There's one coming over right now, and it's 10:15 PM. At my less rational moments, the temptation is definitely lurking in the back of my mind to open up on one.

But on the other hand, my house isn't right next to the airfield. You can't live next to an airfield and not expect to have aircraft noise practically all the time.

12. Nice classist postscript, Euro
Where are the people who live where airfields are supposed to go? To McMansions further out, and drive back and forth in their SUVs?

They live there because it's cheap land. And even in more spendy 'hoods, anybody with money or power can rewrite the law to let themselves fly their jets over people's homes and drive them insane. Google on "Larry Ellison" and "San Jose airport."

9. Hey, she had more chance of shooting down a T-Bird II with a .22 pistol
than the whole "50 Caliber Terror" shoot-down-an-airliner scenario. :dunce:

13. Shhhh, you'll give someone ideas
They'll be looking to ban .22s next because you might (try to) bring down an ultra-light with one.
"One firearms authority stated the .22 pistol was more effective against aircraft than a .50-caliber sniper rifle!"

11. With a .70 German muzzle loader...
...my Pennsylvania ancestors helped bring down the British Crown in 1776.

Now if she was shooting a 91/30 Mosin, I might be concerned (about the falling trajectory of the 7.62 x 54r round).

But I lived for 30 years in the ghettos on the flight path of the Philadelphia International Airport, so I can completely understand her frustration. Nobody was shooting at those commercial jets knocking stuff off our walls with the planequakes. But we sure did lob five-inch shells of invective. Philly style.
