Intruder Shot At Northland Apartment Police: Woman Fired Gun At Man During Attempted Break-In

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police said an intruder was shot during an attempted break-in at a Northland apartment complex early Monday morning.
Officers were called to the Wild Oaks complex at Highway 152 and Flintlock Road shortly before 3 a.m.
Police said a man was trying to break into an apartment when the woman inside grabbed her gun and fired at the intruder through the door.
The man pulled out his own gun and fired back.
The intruder was hit twice and was taken to a hospital. He is expected to recover.

Why not just engage the man in a round of fisticuffs and drive him off?

The worse thing that could happen is she gets a little scrapped up, no one can be seriously injured or killed with just fists (even with a substantial weight/muscle disparity).

Or at least that's what I'm told . . .

I look forward to a rousing debate with the resident gun grabbers on this instance.

Oh wait, they're all far to busy avoiding this like the plague.

Plus it's hard to type with your fingers in your ears, eyes closed and screaming "I can't hear you" over and over again.

6. They always start screeching about how the gun is more likely to endanger

her kids or she'll commit suicide with it in a fleeting moment of despair, or some such fluff.

They want to give women no credit for sane, sensible, responsible gun ownership. That's so strange, to me, and more than a little patronizing.
