Pregnant woman holds intruder at gun point |
|
The lesson here is never threaten an expecting mother, especially if she's armed with a shotgun!! http://www.local15tv.com/news/local/story/Pregnant-woman-holds-intruder-at-gun-point/9rHMA4_PP0y4tCxZ0o26eg.cspx I only wonder why she didn't pull the trigger when he pulled a pistol. When that happened the time for talking was at an end. Oneshooter Livin in Texas

But this is exactly what we've been talking about. What if this guy had more than robbery on his mind?
I heard a woman get raped while she was on a 911 call with police. 911 didn't save her from getting raped. It just made it easier for the cops to catch the assailant after the fact. What this expectant mother did, however, is what we call "crime prevention."

2. Sort of dangerous to give chase, but job well done. |

One armed intruder off the streets, at least for now.

3. Arrested earlier on similar charges.... |
|
So wonder how much time he got to be back out already.
"I was angry," Randi Fairley says. "I was really mad that he was in my house."
I can understand this. Your home is your castle, you shouldn't need to worry about criminal inside your home. He is really lucky she didn't pull the trigger when he drew a firearm. Sadly since this resulted in his arrest next time he likely won't "put it away" when he thinks about the time he is facing and shoots to escape the situation.
Very very risky to talk to someone who attempts to draw on you.

4. Mrs Yowza had a similar incident... |
|
while 7 months pregnant in the late '70s in north Dallas. She was in the shower and heard something kinda strange, threw on a towel and entered the living room to someone trying to jimmy the chain on the door. She retrieved the shotgun from the bedroom and returned to push the barrel thru the crack in the door. She recognized him as the maintenance man for the apt complex. Turned out he had raped several women gaining access to their apts with keys he had made. He hadn't been recognized because he'd been using a mask which he had yet to don. He ended up with long term room and board courtesy the state of TX.

I've said before on this forum, and I'll say it again, but I despise residential burglars. Residential burglary goes beyond mere property crime, because you're violating people's private space, the place where they're supposed to be able to get away from the world.
And if I were a pregnant woman, busy preparing a place for her newborn to be safe, I'd be pissed as hell at the intrusion too.
