NRA's Pierre pepi--la-PEW sent me a solicitation ltr: WHY am *I* on wingnut mailing lists?!1 |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 09:30 PM by UTUSN
A couple of weeks ago I got a FAKE "census" survey from Mikey STEELE, with check boxes for $500 solicitations, but settling for $15 to cover mailing expenses.
My local wingnut newspaper did an article about the SAME FAKE "census" solicitation ltr, but NOT identifying the Rethug Party, saying it was targeted at the elderly on issues of the elderly.
Anyway, I'm on THEIR mailing lists!1

1. Fifteen dollars for mailing? |
|
When did stamps get that high? At least our corporate whores still send you a postage prepaid envelope most of the time.

9. I hope you put something heavy in there |

Me, I used to stuff expired coupons in there until it was nice and plump. :-)

3. i got a couple NRA membership letters years ago and could never figure why |
|
because i'd never even owned a gun...the only plausible reason was that i had given my address to a sporting goods store and they sold it...

It's legal. They target you because of your demographics. You are probably Caucasian and middle-class, am I right?

and i had only recently moved to that address at the time...that's why the sporting goods store (or some other big box store) seem to be the only likely culprits...

6. Own a gun, subscribe to a hunting magazine, ex-military, have a lot of wing nut neighbors? |
|
You are a victim of microtargeting - they think you are one of the wingers.

8. 1) no, 2) no, 3) ex-military, YES, 4) wingnut neighbors, probably. |
|
But I'm not a lifer ex-military, just a normal 4 yrs enlistment. I *do* review veterans' sporting goods websites. I guess that's the answer.

The desperation smells delicious.
