Armed Female Marine Protects Home from Burglar
An O'Hara Township woman was able to protect her family from a burglar, but what the burglar did not know was that the house he was about to break into was the home of an armed Marine.

"It's basic instinct. I would think if you have a gun and someone is breaking into your house, what else are you supposed to do? You react," Holly Smith said.

Before the attempted break-in, she received a call from her uncle telling her there was a burglar in the area.

Ten minutes later, she heard someone breaking in.

"I saw a boulder, it was about the size of my head come through the door and land right here, and I aimed the pistol, and I yelled I have a weapon," Smith said.

1. She's lucky
That the police didn't give her trouble over the warning shots. Personally, if I catch someone breaking into my house, no verbal warning or warning shots.

2. In Colorado, if someone breaks into your house you can shoot him.

5. I guess she's part of the well regulated militia of anti-gunners twisted legal understanding
and so her case does not offend.

What a dumbass! Wasting good ammo on warning shots!

Didn't quite dill the bill but it's the best I can muster.

8. The perp is lucky she was armed.
She'd of ripped his arms and legs off with her bare hands and sent him running on his stumps.
