Kirby Burglar Shot In Self-Defense
Family Of Alex Aleman Questions If Homeowner Is Justified

As Kirby police continue to investigate a fatal shooting during an alleged botched robbery, the family of the teenager killed questions whether the shooting was justified.

Police said all three of the alleged burglars had affiliations to gang activity and said the one who was killed was already on probation for a charge of burglary of a habitation.

Alex Aleman, 17, was shot and killed. Justin Rivera, 19, was shot and underwent surgery at Brook Army Medical Center.

SNIP

Aleman's family told KSAT-12 by phone that regardless of his past, he should not have been shot "like a dog," shot four times in the chest. They said they question where the line is drawn for self-defense.

A grand jury will review the case, but Bois said it is unlikely the homeowner will face any charges.

Four shots? Sounds like rapid fire, semi-auto, until threat is neutralized, then shift fire to next threat. This is a homeowner who is not to be messed with. Good thing he lives in Texas.

1. Of course the family of the bad guy thinks their boy did nothing wrong.
So very typical reaction from the family.

4. I wonder what they would have said
had things gone the other way and their little angel killed the person instead.

2. They were having a grand old time until the bullets started flying...
Now it's early retirement on the forever plan for Aleman. Sudden death: one of the "benefits" of the
lifestyle he chose to live.

3. Don't want to be shot like a dog
Then don't act like a violent animal.

"Aleman's family told KSAT-12 by phone that regardless of his past, he should not have been shot "like a dog," shot four times in the chest. They said they question where the line is drawn for self-defense."

Perhaps you should have done a better job parenting, then you would never have had to find out where the line for self-defense was.

I'm glad this ended well.

5. The boys who lived have learned a harsh lesson.
Criminal behavior will come back and bite you in the ass.

Maybe they'll make something of their lives now.
