Dayton burglar killed by homeowner

Dayton homeowner, Richard Wells, shot and killed an intruder in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve. Well’s home is on Cleveland Street in Dayton.

19-year old, Jack Aaron Jackson attempted to enter Wells home, but was killed by a gunshot to the chest, inflicted by Wells.

According to Dayton Police Chief Pete Douzat, the case is still under investigation and will be presented to a grand jury in the next few days.

Sergeant Doug O’Quinn of the Dayton Police Department, said Jackson was originally from Baytown, but had been renting a house in Dayton for only about one month.

A google of the dead burglar's name finds a matching obituary in Baytown, TX.
