1 Person Shot, 4 Arrested On Northeast Side
Reports say Thomas Clark, Larry Smith and Christopher Frasure arranged to meet at Clark’s house so Smith could purchase two television sets and a Play Station.

Once Frasure and Smith arrived at the agreed-upon location, the suspects jumped Smith and Frasure and attempted to steal their money.

Smith is a concealed carry permit holder and had his personal weapon with him. Smith was able to obtain his weapon and fire a single shot striking two of his attackers.

The suspects fled the scene and the victims called police.

One suspect, 23-year old Thomas Clark was transported to the hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Austin Young, 21, was transported in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the hip.

2. This is a clean story. No emboldening. One point awarded.
(Not one per assailant.)

6. It's a pro-gun propaganda game which YOU initiate with your posts.
You want to win by default, with no one pointing out the glaring defects.

8. Sucks to be on the anti-US Constitution side, doesn't it?
Edited on Sun Jan-17-10 07:41 PM by Tejas
That's okay, we're here for you and we have plenty of propaganda available. All 20,000 laws of the US Code on firearms and the Bill of Rights thrown in for good measure.

Need any facts to add to your game rules, feel free to ask.

10. That is a Constitutional misinterpretation which will one day be corrected.
A lot like the web of segregation laws which Plessy v. Ferguson seemed to validate.

Then, one day, Brown v. Board of Ed. comes along.

11. Wish in one hand,
you can probably figure out what to do in the other.

Until then, I hear North Korea is accepting immigrants with skills.

16. Where did this come from?
"Racist roots of gun control"?

Is this another bullshit statement attempting "to shoot" down the gun controllers arguments?

18. He's referring to Black Codes, the Sullivan Act, etcetera.
In the South post-Reconstruction it was common for states to ban black people from owning firearms, so that they couldn't defend themselves against white attackers. Here in New York State, handguns are still controlled by the Sullivan Act, which was passed for the purpose of keeping pistols and other weapons out of the hands of "undesirable immigrants" such as Italians. There's a long history in this country of legally prohibiting ethnic minorities from owning weapons.

25. Interesting
But it doesn't really apply to my current gun control position (no handguns, more interviews, strict storage of firearms).

Are you actually saying that visitors to the US are allowed to have guns when they're in the country? I thought that was only allowed to US born citizens, such as myself? Good, I think my British-born husband will be pleased to see he can exercise his right to defend himself when he's in the US.

27. Well, your current gun control position is illegal.
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 06:17 PM by TheWraith
So says the Supreme Court, which ruled that an almost identical set of rules in Washington DC--no handguns and firearms had to be stored in either a locked or disassembled state--violated the legal rights of the residents. So that's not happening.

Legal Permanent Residents (green card) are able to legally own firearms in most parts of the US, although there's notable exceptions like Massachusetts, Michigan, and a few others. Most states will also not issue any kind of license to a non-citizen. Naturalized citizens of course don't have those restrictions.

But citizenship has nothing to do with the Sullivan Act. It was designed so that the local police could be the sole arbiters of who was allowed to own a weapon and who wasn't, without creating any definable standard for how to make those decisions other than on a whim. In practice, it means that people who are well connected get permits--Chuck Schumer has one, so does Donald Trump, lots of other celebs and politicos--but the average person who might actually need to defend themselves has no real chance of getting one in New York City.

Out here where I live, it's still an easy way for the local power brokers to reward people they like and punish people they don't. The whole "may issue" system practically begs for corruption.

See Wraith's post below and crack a book or two.

Lots of people know about the racist roots of gun-control.

17. Uh, no, it's been pretty clearly enumerated for 200 years.
Including by the founders themselves, such as Jefferson who famously wrote that it was the duty of every gentleman to be armed.

28. A large majority of Americans favor either the same or laxer gun laws.
Only about a third of the public think gun laws should be more stringent.

12. Actually if you use the current "modern warfare" point system
200 points for the two hits, +50 for the double hit, + 500 for the double hit on the same shot.

Not to mention it unlocks a new call sign and logo.

I gotta stop playing so many video games.
