Elderly women fear Texas ‘Twilight Rapist’
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 12:58 PM by RamboLiberal
YOAKUM, Texas - Cassandra McGinty has had the same routine upon arriving home for the past four months, doing a room-to-room search with her handgun or stun gun drawn.

A sexual predator has been assaulting elderly women in central Texas over the past year, terrifying residents and frustrating investigators who have only a vague description of the suspect.

Pepper spray has been flying off the shelves in the towns where the attacks have occurred, and McGinty, of Marquez, said her landlord handed out stun guns as Christmas gifts. Nearly 200 miles away in Yoakum, elderly volunteers at the local museum have been locking its doors during business hours.

-----

The victims have all been women, ranging in age from 65 to 91. One rape victim played piano at her church on Sundays. An 81-year-old woman scared off an intruder with a gun, firing several rounds for good measure. A 66-year-old woman was attacked twice, despite having moved across town following the first assault.

The attacks occurred in seven rural towns, the largest of which has 6,000 residents.

And some here wonder why some of us choose to arm ourselves and learn to use our firearms. As a single woman who's old enough to qualify for some senior discounts I feel for these women and hope they catch this sick bastard soon - or he breaks in to the wrong damn house! Too bad the 81 year old didn't hit him in a vital spot.

1. According to some around here, having a gun for self-defense will "embolden" a rapist......
So I expect to see sharesunited, depakid, and the usual gang in 3, 2, 1.....

4. I know. They expect her to fight a rapist with her fists.
If she doesn't then she's a "gun-loving American coward."

I wonder if grabber ever look in the mirror and realize where cowardice truly lives.

9. Oh Man, I remember that. If were talking about the same story....
Older black woman, in her 50's, was on a talk show explaining the incident. She explained how she dragged the assailant down the stairs, and everytime he tried to fight or get away, she would "twist it again" (her words), and do a mime with her hands-was hilarious, because you could hear every guy in the audience do an "ooohhh" and "ouch" when she was explaining it.

5. What a POS. I hope he gets a bad case of lead poisoning ASAP...
My mom has a .38, slighty shaky hands and excellent hearing/eyesight. I wouldn't break in at her her house for ANY reason. No telling what you'd get shot off!
