Police: Man Shot After Parking Dispute
http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/22324795/detail.html

DETROIT -- Police arrested a 65-year-old woman after she allegedly shot at a man who parked on her property Saturday night.

Witnesses told Local 4 that the woman came out of her house after the victim parked an SUV on the street, partially blocking the woman's driveway.

The man moved the vehicle onto the woman's lawn, seemingly unaware it was her property, witnesses said.

The homeowner was allegedly cursing at the man, and carrying a .38 caliber revolver. She shot at the man 5 times, hitting him in the chest.

So, did he swing at her? Could she have gone inside and called police? Did the woman elevate the situation by cursing at the man? Will a bunch of lawyers make some money?

1. Guns settle grievances. Every man and woman is judge, jury and executioner.

16. And save lives.
Too bad you want to destroy the good in a hopeless move to prevent the bad.

4. More details needed.
On the surface, it does appear that she made a bunch of really bad decisions, and it does appear to be an illegal shooting. But that is just first reports.

Did she have the gun legally?

Whether or not lawyers make money will depend upon the depth of the pockets.

12. First impressions...
I'm inclined to agree that it looks like a bad shoot. You don't shoot someone for parking his car where he shouldn't, or even taking a swing at you (especially if you've provoked the swing to some extent).

That said, it doesn't entirely absolve the victim of responsibility, because from the article, I get the impression he was behaving in--shall we say?--less than gentlemanly fashion.

6. Not enough information to judge whether or not shooting was justified
But she certainly could use some range time.

We should ban cars as well.

Police investigate fatal crash

WESTPORT, Mass.—Massachusetts State Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal one-car accident in Westport.

Troopers say a car driven by Jaroslaw Cuzytek, 26, of West Warwick veered off Interstate 195 by Exit 10 westbound at about 1 a.m. Saturday.

The car hit a concrete barrier in the breakdown lane, and rolled over, before ending up in the left hand lane.
Cuzytek was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, Megan Pont, 23, of Rehoboth was thrown from the car.
Troopers say she suffered serious injuries.

This car emboldened the driver.

11. So- rusty, what the hell are you talking about?
No one said anything about banning anything. The question the article presents is about what is the proper use of lethal force.

He has a long history of saying that guns embolden these type of incident. I am just making the point that this type of thing can happen with or without a gun.

10. Probably a bad shoot...
"“She shot him straight, five times -- bam, bam, bam, bam, bam … and for no reason,” said witness Anthony Hernandez."

"Police said the woman told them the man threw a punch at her before any shots were fired."

She could have done any number of things before she started cussing him.

14. At first glance it doesn't seem like a justifiable shoot. I hope justice is done.
I hope the man recovers.
