Orange tipped toy guns.... A good idea gone bad. (Bad guys painting real guns to look like toys)
To further add to the mix, a considerable amount of the criminal element are now painting the tips of their ‘Real Weapons’ with an orange tip. It’s easy to understand their reasoning. Once again, Law Enforcement find themselves in a deeper hole. Ironically, if this criminal who has no criminal record and is allowed to own this weapon in the first place, there is no law preventing him from painting the tip of his real gun orange in the attempt to make it appear as a toy.

10. If you are rich or connected you get one
if not you don't. You can own a pump gun in the UK. Yep, we will not be following that lead.

16. Would you prefer that the U.S.

followed their lead with respect to banned films, movies, and censorship of the internet?

Once a government decides you can't be trusted with guns, it's not soon after that they decide you can't be trusted with other rights. I wonder how long it will be before Australians become very familiar with the phrase "Papers, please."

18. How about answer the question directly?
Straight up answer, Shares. The firearm shown is a pump-action shotgun, the design of which dates to 1897, over 100 years ago.

So what do you propose? Banning them? Registering them? What specifically do you propose?

12. I don't know the background of the weapon in the picture
But I'd bet the owner wasn't allowed to own it, it's the law you know, and all bad guys obey the law. (Painting the handle to look like a toy is my first hint).

I'd be interested in knowing from whom they got this.

11. People will do dumb things. That doesn't mean we should ban everything.
I'm fine with these toy guns for two reasons: One, if you ban toy guns, and they could not be found, a few criminals might search a bit more for a real gun, which is much worse

Sooner or later they will run into somebody with a real gun, and they are going to be a world of hurt when some citizen has a working gun and they don't. You break into my house unarmed, I'll hold you until the police come. You break in with a gun, and I'm going to be armed with a 12 gauge shotgun.

13. I remember a story about two cleveland students robing people with a toy gun.
They picked the wrong victim who had a CCW and one got killed.
The other kid (a football star with NCAA talent) was convicted on felony murder.

17. The situation with Embody (from the article) looks bad
Okay, first off, he's a dick.

But aside from that he's carrying a pistol, runs into a park ranger who confirms he has a permit.

Another ranger hears this (knows he has a permit), comes at him gun drawn, puts him on the ground, cuffs him for hours, tries to get him to cop to illegally carrying.

All that time he knew the guy had a permit and was carrying legally.

That this can happen is scary.

19. I agree
Plus if I read the article right it was the same park ranger that stopped him ealier. They just dont get it. We have alot of arrests for that open carry stuff here, even after they had a sit down meeting with every single police dept in the state explaining that it was ok. No sweat off the officers back when his area is taxed into oblivion trying to recover from lawsuit they lost. Sometimes repeatedly lost.
