Man, 1-Year-Old Child, Wounded in Compton Shooting
COMPTON, Calif. (CBS) ― A man and a one-year-old child were wounded in a shooting in Compton Sunday night, a sheriff's lieutenant said Monday.

They were shot at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday at North Wilmington Avenue and West 137th Street, said Lt. Raymond Enriquez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department's Compton Station.

Both were taken to a local hospital, Enriquez said.

A sergeant at the Compton Sheriff's station described their condition as 'ok.'

One of those dangerous LEGAL CCW holders we hear so much about who decided, on a whim, to start blasting away.

9. Legalize drugs.
Legalize drugs and you go a long way to removing the power and influence and income for gangs.

10. YES YES YES.
The murder rate dropped like a rock in this country right after we did away with prohibition, despite the people who claimed otherwise. The same thing would happen if we legalized and regulated drugs. With no black market to drive them, the gangs would starve to death when deprived of their billion dollar industry.

11. It would go a long way.
Ending prohibition would not be a silver bullet to organized crime, but it would go a long way to help the problem.

12. They moved to other consensual crimes
Gambling, prostitution, etc.

You know, other things that are relatively safe when well-regulated but offend the religious powers that be.
