Question for gun-control advocates.

As a new guy, it appears to me that Benchley and COLiberal are the top gun-control advocates. So, this message is primarily directed to them, but any other gun-control advocates can feel free to chime in.

It appears that you are the preeminent (sp?) gun control advocates on the "Justice/Public Safety" message board. In my readings of the board, I have been given the impression that you are against all guns. Is this true? If not, what are your opinions on gun-control in general. Could you please tell me what you think of various programs? What guns should be illegal, what should be legal. Should all be banned and confiscated? As you might have been able to tell from my few posts, I am a new guy who is also pro-gun. I am quite interested in getting your opinions.

1. I'm not one of the guys you are looking for,

but I do have an opinion (imagine that, an opinion, right here on DU!)
personally I'm not so much anti-gun as I am anti- hand gun. The reason for that is pretty simple: Hand guns are made for a single purpose- killing people. For that reason thier ownership should be restricted to law enforcement.

2. Guns sure make killing a lot easier.

When we have a rash of "drive-by" knifings, I may reconsider my opposition to handguns. I'm not holding my breath, however.

I am against guns, period. Unfortunatelly, I'm at work now and don't have time to elaborate...

But I do want to say that I just had some Smoking Loon Chardonnay about a week ago (for the first time), and I think it's my favorite wine of all, hands down.
