2. Huh?? hypocrisy knows no bounds?

Daley picks up a rifle off a table and threatens to sodomize a reporter with it and he gets a little "ha ha, dickhead Daley shoots of his mouth again bad press" but some guy in California asks, "How'd you like it if someone did that to you?" and gets arrested?

Why is the one crack by a public official tossed off as a glib remark, while the remark by a citizen a "threat against a public official?"
