3 wounded by gunman shooting randomly at passing cars in Siren Wisconsin. Shooter now dead.
http://www.northlandsnewscenter.com/news/local/One-Dead-Three-Injured-in-Burnett-County-Shooting-Spree-103828114.html

The Burnett County Sheriffs Department reports that around 11:45 this morning a man started shooting at passing cars on Highway seventy with a twelve gauge shotgun.

Two people were in one of the cars and received non life threatening injuries.

A sheriff's deputy tried to take the suspect into custody, but the man started firing hitting the officer.

The deputy returned fire and the shooter died en route to a twin cities hospital.

6. 2nd Amendment rights do not encompass reckless or negligent endangerment of others' lives.
Protip: Posters who post stupid things shouldn't be surprised when others think they're stupid.

7. Criminal behavior has nothing to do with our rights.
Which doesn't matter to you for some reason.

13. Non sequitur.
Your snarky assertion didn't hold up to logical scrutiny, so you throw out another platitude? Typical.

15. More corrections for those wallowing in the be-fouled mud...
The good of murder laws is for prosecution of the thugs which commit that crime. Whether or not those laws stop murders, or even slow them down, is up for debate. What YOU want to do is enact a prohibitionist regime which you know full-well will not work, and cannot in any case, be linked to murder rates.

16. It's the difference between "malum in se" and "malum prohibitum"
Which I have posted on multiple occasions before (but there's none so blind as those who will not see).

Malum in se is Latin for "an ill in and of itself." Most of the stuff that falls under the heading of "doing unto others as you would not have them do unto you" (theft, assault and battery, robbery, abduction, sexual assault, homicide) are mala in se.

Malum prohibitum means "an ill (because it is) prohibited." The stuff that falls into this category is generally not directly harmful to others, but is prohibited because it creates an unacceptable risk of a malum in se occurring. Thus, driving under the influence is prohibited because it, while it causes no harm to other directly, it creates an unacceptably high risk of damage to the life, limb and property of others.

A law against a malum in se requires no justification; nobody has the right to deprive another of life, liberty or property (though one may have legal authority or justification to do so in certain circumstances). To prohibit something that is not a malum in se, however, requires a compelling case that the positive effect of such a law (i.e. how well it protects and/or improves public health and safety) is worth the attendant deprivation of citizens' freedom to do what is not, in and of itself, an activity harmful to another.

17. The 2nd does not say "to keep, bear, and recklessly endanger others with arms"
To take X_digger's analogy a little further, the 1st Amendment doesn't protect performing human sacrifice, even if your religion requires it.

3. Strange. Wonder what set him off?
He probably would do more damage with fist size rocks than a 12-gauge if trying to hit a moving car.

4. Wonder what the whole story is. Found this in another article.
The deceased suspect is a 43-year old man from rural Siren, WI, and was known to local law enforcement from previous police contacts.
http://www.weau.com/news/headlines/103825659.html

Of course this is just as cryptic as the article in the O.P. What where the "previous police contacts"? Could be anything from being a free lance photographer to. . .well, anything.
