Helmke says Brady Campaign has a $250K budget shortfall

I got another begging letter from the BC, and in this one Paul Helmke says they have a $250,000 deficit:

Dear (friendly_iconoclast),

I am writing to you today as one of the Brady Campaign's most loyal friends because we really need your help...

...But the truth is, because we've been fighting so hard on so many fronts, we're facing a serious financial shortfall.


I need to make up a $250,000 budget shortfall before the end of the year....

Maybe they should ask the NRA for a loan. After all, the Brady Camapign has done wonders for their fundraising...

Because the Brady Campaign, according to the FEC records, did not donate to any known candidates in 2010. So they don't have the excuse that they're out there fighting for, well, anyone besides themselves.

Isn't that what they do all the time anyway?

IIRC they had like $250 in donations for all of FY 2010 from individuals. I'm sure many here that revile the NRA gave generously. Or maybe not.

As much as the loss of jobs in the economy concerns me, I would not mind seeing Helmke, Hennigan and Sugarmann in the line to file for for unemployment.

When they try to influence cities to push gun control, gun owners then have to donate to pro gun groups to protect their rights. In the end the gun owner pays for both sides of the lawsuits. It seems "freedom isn't free"
