Fighting fire with a gun
http://www.wesh.com/news/26175989/detail.html

LAKE MARY, Fla. -- A robber threatened his victim with a bottle of gasoline and a lighter, only to find out the store's owner was packing even more fire power, authorities said on Friday.

According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, the robber pulled out a water bottle that contained gasoline, threw gas on the store owner, and then pulled out a lighter to demand money.

"He obviously gave the clerk the impression he was going to be set on fire," said Lt. James Clark.

Investigators said that's when the owner, Hassan Malih, pulled out his gun and fired at the robber. The robber fled, authorities said.

I watched the video. This was actually gasoline, not some other liquid. The police stated that Malih actually got gasoline in his face, and they later neutralized it with some chemical. The whole thing is pretty damn scary if you think about it. If it were me, I might have hesitated shooting thinking I might set myself on fire from the muzzle blast.

1. Agreed!
Thats what i first thought too, that he would ignite the vapors when he fired. Maybe he got lucky, in more ways than one!

2. It was a maybe Vs. a for sure
I'd rather risk the muzzle blast than trust the mercy of a criminal

3. Maybe he lucked out
Maybe our unidentified suspect poured his dose off a 5 gallon can of E85 that had already absorbed enough water from the atmosphere to suffer phase separation , he then subsequently doused his alleged victim with the equivalent of 50 proof vodka with a gasolene twist .

And it didn't burn .

Think of me , and this post , when your car runs like shit .
