Carolyn McCarthy readies gun control bill (BAN shoulderthingsthatgoup!)
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0111/47338.html

One of the fiercest gun-control advocates in Congress, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), pounced on the shooting massacre in Tucson Sunday, promising to introduce legislation as soon as Monday.

Another vocal supporter for gun control, Illinois Rep. Mike Quigley, told POLITICO that he hopes “something good” can come from the Arizona tragedy – perhaps discussion on a new assault weapon ban, sales at gun shows and tracing measures.

She's baaa-aaack!

6. You know this about Carolyn McCarthy, right?
"On December 7, 1993, her husband, Dennis, was killed and her son, Kevin, severely injured, on a Long Island Rail Road commuter train at the Merillon Avenue station, when a mass murderer, Colin Ferguson, opened fire on random unarmed passengers."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolyn_McCarthy

She's not some random anti-gun nut; she has good reason for her position.

"She's not some random anti-gun nut; she has good reason for her position."

No. She has a good reason for her feelings.

She has terrible reasons for her position.

Watch the video.

She wants to ban something, doesnt know what it is or what it does, but she wants to ban it.

Nobody should be making decisions that others have to live with based on such ignorance, regardless of how they feel, and regardless of what party they belong to or don't.

No, shes not a random anti-gun nut, but where firearm and law are concerned, she may as well be.

44. Her husband was murdered with a handgun and a normal-capacity magazine,
so she fights to outlaw rifles with handgrips that stick out, even though rifles are the least misused class of weapons in the country.

That's either profoundly illogical, or opportunism, IMO.

murderer on public transportation and now a colleague is possibly mortally wounded by another gun-wielding criminal who killed 7 people including a bright, beautiful 9 year old girl.

Sorry, can't summon a laugh or support for your stupid post.

25. Gun control leaves guns in the hands of criminals and good people defenseless
If you think gun control works, go to Mexico..it doesn't.

Like drugs, if you ban them or make them hard to get, the criminal element will fill the gap.

governor over a Democrat that had an A+ rating. Yet many think that gun rights are what swing elections. It does not always do that. What swings elections is $ used to spin peoples records.

39. A one-note-tuba if there ever was one...
her whole Raison d'être/political career has been centered around gun control.

Maybe during the 'Golden Age of Gun Grabbing' (80's - 90's), that sentiment was popular and the anti's carried some weight, but not anymore.

She's a throwback... Neanderthal... out of touch... an anachronism... something to be put on display in a museum to show our children and grand children to point and shake our heads at in bewilderment.

Even Dianne Feinstein (the former Queen of gun control), seems to have been relatively quite the past few years.

McCarthy needs to have a sock shoved in her mouth or learn to STFU and sit-down.

45. But it's the only thing she's going for her
Fact is, McCarthy is essentially a Republican on everything except gun control; she used to be a registered Republican and originally wanted to run as a Republican, except the local party chapter didn't want to support her agenda, so she ran as a Democrat instead (and which idiot thought that was a good idea?). If she stops militating on the issue of guns, she'll have nothing left to distinguish her from any other political candidate.
