Neighbor of AZ shooter not afraid because she was armed
LO was doing a piece on gun control and asked the neighbor of the AZ shooter if she was afraid of him. Her reply was no, because I was armed.

Thought that was an interesting and unexpected twist.

1. Wouldn't it be nice if...
... she could have said no because we have a good, affordable, caring
mental health system?

3. Just yesterday someone on this forum challenged me to find a post...
about people carrying guns and claiming invulnerability. Bingo!

7. I fail to see how invulnerability and being unafraid are connected
No one who is armed is involnerable, it just evens the odds.

Your leap is quite amazing. Have you contacted Vegas yet?

9. Try again...
If you say you are not afraid because you have a gun, you are implying that you will always be first to incapacitate the attacker. That is a belief that you are invulnerable.

You are using the debating techniques of the right by ignoring her statement and attacking me with a personal insult.

11. You leap again. Saying you're unafraid does not mean you feel involnerable
And please don't lecture me on the meaning of what someone says. That is your interpretation, it doesn't not make you correct and therefore able to pass judgement on those who disagree.

6. Isn't it likely that someone in the crowd was armed as well? Gunman was subdued by a chair.

Hold on

Edit:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41018893/ns/slatecom/

"..."I came out of that store, I clicked the safety off, and I was ready," he explained on Fox and Friends. "I had my hand on my gun. I had it in my jacket pocket here. And I came around the corner like this." Zamudio demonstrated how his shooting hand was wrapped around the weapon, poised to draw and fire. As he rounded the corner, he saw a man holding a gun. "And that's who I at first thought was the shooter," Zamudio recalled. "I told him to 'Drop it, drop it!'"

But the man with the gun wasn't the shooter. He had wrested the gun away from the shooter. "Had you shot that guy, it would have been a big, fat mess," the interviewer pointed out. "

10. There was a guy with a gun and he almost shot the guy who disarmed the shooter
He admitted he was "lucky" that he hesitated. Not everyone carrying a gun is so prudent.
