And he should have been barred from owning a firearm because of his mental condition. That is if his family cared enough to seek help for him. It's got to be hard to accept the reality that the baby you brought into the world has grown into a dangerous nut.

There's no way you can make the case the Loughner was in any way just a normal guy who suddenly snapped because of some crap on talk radio.

It is a little stronger than the .38 and a little less powerful than a .357. All use the same size bullet.

2. I'm always amazed at the number of people here who do not value this civil right

They would scream at any restrictions to their first or fourth amendment rights, but would freely give up their right to self defense. For some reason, they do not view this right as being inalienable (i.e. ours to begin with and not dependent upon the government to grant).

Just an observation: It seems to me that most who post in opposition to RKBA use emotional arguments rather citing facts and statistics. Most of the citations to statistics, case law, the Federalist Papers, etc. seem to come from those who support the 2nd Amendment.

9. There's some real GDS (Gun Derangement Sydnrome) at work here.

Many of these folks are the same people that said things like "only the government should have guns" when Cheney was running the government. They worried aout Bush/Cheney shredding the 1st and 4th amendments but if they decided to toss out the 2nd they'd all hold the door for them.

A lot of posters were perfectly willing to turn all the guns over to Crazy Dick and his gestapo. Just amazing.
