One of last two states that disallow concealed carry likely to change law...
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE70G58U20110117?feedType=RSS&feedName=domesticNews

"(Reuters) - Wisconsin, one of two states in the nation that prohibits citizens from carrying a concealed weapon, is expected to reverse this law during the upcoming state legislative session, according to a local newspaper."

Hooray for Wisconsin!

Speaking of blood in the streets, Iowa went to shall issue a few weeks
ago and the same thing was said. How's that bloodflow in Des Moines? Oh, you mean it didn't happen???

We told you it wouldn't, and it WON'T happen in Wisconsin either.

29. Well of course it wouldn't have happened...
...he would have had to break the law by carrying concealed, before he murdered all those people.
Insane people (and criminals) always follow the law.

4. Better for people to have the option to choose to get a license to carry concealed

9. Why it's good.
It's good because Wisconsin is one of the last two states that don't allow concealed carry, and it's good that they are getting on board with the rest of the country with this issue.

10. You should meet some of other other people in DU that get all a-flutter about
open carry.

Should be a grand old time.

This concealed permit comes with restrictions, and requires not just a background check, but a full FBI fingerprint background check, and they keep my prints on file, so if I commit a crime, even though I have never been arrested before, if I leave a print anywhere, they can find me.

28. Wisconsin does allow open carry, but ...
... they appear to still be arresting people for open carry.

Here in Washington, we're a concealed (with a license) or open carry state; however, open carry folks still get hassled from time to time.

Mostly, I wanna be left the hell alone, and I find that concealed carry leads me to that destination more often than not.

13. If it passes without being amended it will be "shall issue". That would make it the 41st state ...
with either "shall issue" or "no issue" laws.

Only 8 more "may discriminate" and 1 other "will prohibit" states to go.

6. I hazarded a weapons charge, for six plus months, in a non concealed region.
I fired an individual that had millions of dollars. Confirmed. Special operations viet nam, demolitions expert. {that is how he got his millions. He invented the exploding bolts used for parachute drops. So weather didnt ruin a good drop}. He told his psychyatrist that he wanted to do a mass murder at work, and I was the principal individual needing extermination. Police tell me, after the shrink tells them. No, I cant carry a gun. No, I may not consider him a deadly weapon, due to his being an assassin, by trade. And only a few WELL CONECTED individuals get concealed permits in this here area. They would not reveal what weapons violation he had on his record. The police told me to consider his millions. And eat it.

12. Great news. If it happens (shall issue) that would leave only 9 states that deny citizens rights
Edited on Wed Jan-19-11 02:09 PM by Statistical

Effective 01 JAN 2011 Iowa became the 40th state to adopt either "shall issue" or "no issue" laws rather than discriminatory bans and "may discriminate" laws.

8 states (CA, DE, HI, MD, MA, NJ, NY, RI) currently have "may discriminate" laws
2 states (MI & IL) have outright bans.
