Court document details Dutch Bros. shooting...
Edited on Thu Jan-20-11 07:38 PM by WheelWalker
A Dutch Bros. barista told Eugene police he shot and killed an armed robber last November after the intruder momentarily looked away while holding him at gunpoint inside a Franklin Boulevard coffee kiosk, a newly filed court document states.

snip

The barista — who told police the robber had threatened to kill him — said he pulled a Glock .40-caliber handgun from his waistband and fired several shots toward Sirus Combs, who collapsed and died in the coffee stand’s doorway while clutching a wad of stolen cash in one hand and a pistol in the other, Eugene police Detective Dan Braziel wrote in a probable cause affidavit filed after investigators arrested Combs’ alleged accomplice last Friday.

After gunning down Combs — who the barista said fired at least two gunshots toward him after he began shooting — the Dutch Bros. worker stepped outside the kiosk and encountered a second robber, who raised a handgun toward him, Braziel wrote.

1. Tragic waste of life
Mr. Combs made a bad career choice, and chose his last victim poorly.

4. Nobody ever mentions the criminal as the problem.

But that legally carried gun the barista used in defense sure raises some red flags!

2. Guns as solution to guns. Zero points for a zero sum game.

5. Guns as a solution to some criminal debating whether to take your life.
Will you propose a BETTER solution to the potentially troublesome situation of an armed criminal who just robbed you and is now considering killing you?

6. Unlike the admiration
you hold for criminals who hack up their victims and stuff them into hollow trees.

Ohio slaying victims stabbed, not shot.

"What a wild savage the killer must have been. Nothing convenient or expeditious about this crime. Certainly nothing as simple as pulling a trigger. It took much greater guile and determination."

It's all about "sweat equity" with you! No lazy gun-toting bastard would stalk a family for weeks; stab and bludgeon them to death; dismember them and stuff them into a hollow tree.

How many points was keeping the teen-age daughter chained in a basement worth?
