Rep. Ellmers Plans To Carry Handgun (R-North Carolina)
RALEIGH, N.C. --

North Carolina's newest Representative says the deadly shooting rampage in Arizona has made her concerned for her own safety.

Rep. Renee Ellmers says she has a concealed carry permit and plans to carry a handgun at public events.

However, even in light of the shootings she said she will not support restrictions on certain ammunition.

1. and if she had been accosted on the street like her opponent was
would she have used it, in panic? Etheridge was being harassed by Republican operatives on the street and got angry and "grabbed" the guy.

(Not you specifically OP)

Repugs are all about guns for me and not for thee.

However, even in light of the shootings she said she will not support restrictions on certain ammunition.

Let me guess, Gifford was shot w/ FMJs so some idiot (probably Diane Feinstein)wants to ban JHPs

6.  There is no way to receive a CHL in DC.
There is not even a process, forms, or instructions available. They just do not exist.

7. They should lead the way by doing so anyway...
and tell the D.C. police and mayor to get bent.

Hell, they should O.C.

I'd love to see the D.C. system try to arrest/charge a Rep or Senator for exercising a Constitutional Right.

9. Senators reportedly used to get themselves deputized as "U.S. Marshals" or somesuch
so that they had Federal LEO carry privileges in the District of Columbia, but that a court eventually put a stop to it. I can't cite a source at the moment, though.

10. What praise?
I went and reread the thread thus far and couldn't find any praising of the Senator.
