Arizona lawmaker says OK to guns in Senate building

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce says it's OK for State Senators to carry guns inside the Senate building.

The Arizona Republic reports the Mesa Republican issued a memo Tuesday to lawmakers clarifying his policy.

Pearce says a member of the Legislature does not lose his or her Second Amendment rights when coming to work each day.

The policy does conflict with state law that prohibits weapons inside the Arizona House and Senate.

teachers bringing students on field trips.

And janitors and maintenance people, clerks and other employees...

And, well, if you're going to override the state constitution, why not go all the way and include paid assassins.

(More and more I'm thinking the only real effect of the Second Amendment is to make people really, really stupid.)

3. Sounds like this isn't so much a 2nd Amendment concern for him as it is

a sense of entitlement to special treatment. Some animals being more equal than the others, in his mind.

If it's just the 2A and 'coming to work', why doesn't the memo apply to everyone who works in the building?

If we just pass out guns to everyone we``l all be safe from whatever bogeyman is percieved to mean "us" harm!!! Shoot first, ask questions later!! Would we really want to deny our children thier 2nd amendment rights?? Arm `em all! Kill them all, let god sort them out! Yeah, guns are really the answer, just ask Gabby Giffords.
