Libyan people defend themselve

(CBS News) TRIPOLI - People in the town of Zawiya, just 30 miles from the capital Tripoli, have turned on leader Muammar Qaddafi and say they're surrounded by government forces. They have now fought off his forces for days. At least two dozen are dead.

The opposition has its own heavy weapons and snipers and is determined to hold ground.


"We need freedom. That's all, that's all we need," one man said. "We need freedom. I am 30 years old. We never saw any president, just Muammar Qaddafi. We need another people. We need young people. Open-mind people. That's what we need."

Not every one of the revolutions is peacefull, against a mad man like Quaddafi it appears it is not possible for it to be peacefull.

Peaceful means are the only method that ever defeats evil.

For instance, in WW2, Hitler and the Nazis fought on and would have won, but for a little known fact. There was a small group of German citizens that peacefully protested near the end of the war, and that--not the Allied armed forces--led to Hitler's ultimate defeat.

Little know fact, but an intricate part of history.

Evil only yields to peaceful, harmonious thoughts. That is what took down the Fuhrer.

There was actually such a movement, the White Rose movement.

The Nazis crushed it two years before the end of the war, most famously resulting in the execution of Sophie Scholl.

The student uprising they had hoped for with their arrests never appeared.
