Bangor man arrested after reportedly acting suspiciously with gun at Dysart’s (Maine)
http://new.bangordailynews.com/2011/03/01/news/bangor/bangor-man-arrested-after-reportedly-acting-suspiciously-with-gun-at-dysart’s/?ref=latest

A man who reportedly went into Dysart’s Truck Stop & Restaurant late Friday night with a bandanna covering part of his face and a pistol tucked into the waistband of his pants was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

<snip>

Staff there told police that Cobb was in and out of the building a couple of times and that the pistol fell out of his pants at one point as he leaned over the UPS drop box outside one of the entrances. He stuffed the gun back in his pants, employees said.

When Hallett and three other sheriff’s deputies arrived about 11:30 p.m., they found Cobb just outside the convenience store part of the truck stop. They ordered Cobb, who at that point was wearing the bandanna as a headband and was holding the gun in his hand, to drop the gun, which he did without further incident.

Hallett said the gun wasn’t loaded and that Cobb wasn’t carrying any ammunition at the time of his arrest. Cobb told officers he was not aware that he was breaking any laws.

<more>

The more people carrrying, the more of this nonsense we will see

yup

1. Ummm, obviously this guy didn't hold a CHL, if he was arrested for carrying without a CHL.
Yup.

6. Concealed carry
All respomsible law abiding SANE citizens should conceal carry.

It would reduce crime, and save lives.

7. Yes - all permit holders must be certified "sane" by a minimum of 3 certified psychiatrists
and their sanity reexamined every six months.

yup

10. The same for voting, then.
An elected official can do orders of magnitude more damage than a CCW holder....

with 100% success rate and easily verified results.

Shouldn't we do the same thing with voting rights too?

4. No holster either. If the gun had been loaded, this guy would have
deserved to have his johnson suddenly, and with malice, blown off.

9. Plenty of law abiding normal citizens
walk around with a gun in their pants (no holster) and their face concealed.

:sarcasm:

I like this logic: the law worked and an idiot who should not have a gun was arrested . . .. clearly we need more laws to prevent this from happening!
