2nd Amendment(and Open Carry) Supporters Rally in Magic City Alabama
The 2nd Amendment protects the rights of citizens to bear arms. One Alabama organization is trying to make sure they get the full extent of those rights.

Alabama Open Carry (ALOC) is a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting and fighting for the rights of those who choose to wear their firearms in public.

"A lot of people, as soon as they see a firearm in the open they either, one, assume your a law enforcement officer, or that it's illegal, that you can't do that," says Jason Jones, president of ALOC. He points to legal precedence in support of the right for citizens to open carry. "Since the 1800's there have been multiple cases to prove that alabama open carry, or, carrying a firearm openly on your hip is totally legal in Alabama."

Many people do not know the laws regarding open carry. ALOC fights for it's members that continue to run into legal problems over their choice. "We can give them information about how to handle it. We can give them information from others who have gone through the same situations," says Tony Shifflet, a member of ALOC.

like DC or Detroit.

But they seem to do ok.

9. Ironically enough stronger restrictions/fees on guns tend to favor
the wealthy (and criminals of course) meaning that in general the more restrictions you place on guns the more you are restricting their use among black and hispanic citizens (who are disproportionately unable to pay such fees, set aside the time for classes, or use lawyers to get around legal restrictions).

Edited on Mon Mar-07-11 07:45 PM by WatsonT
should the most restrictive laws you seem to prefer become a reality?

Yeah, then you can't own a gun legally.

But don't worry, at least the people who don't care about the law will be armed.

I'm not saying you're necessarily racist. However your stance does disproportionately harm blacks and hispanics. I'm sure your goal is to harm everyone, but try to keep this fact in mind.

He will be our guest of honor at the I-GOLD meeting in Sprtingfield Thursday. How can that be?

Is he not a real Dem? Maybe he's not really African-American?

Something must be wrong because he thanked the ISRA and the NRA too.

(also a man of excellent taste in sports as a White Sox fan.)

28. Projection is an issue that usually calls for therapy
Since you seem to live in a shitty neighborhood full of assholes, you seem to think everyone else shares the experience. You really should talk to someone about that or find a better place to live.

I'm assuming, as usual, that you pulled the "Most pro-gunners are right wingers" right out of your ass. Or are you going to surprise us all and offer some vague form of support for your assertions this time? Or is this another one of your "take my word for it I know" moments?

I go to gun shows all the time and never see any confedrerate flags, but I do see a lot of brown and black faces walking the aisles and at the local ranges. We're having a big pro gun rally in Democrat controlled Illinois Thursday. There won't be a single confederate flag and Otis McDonald is the Grand Marshall.

Maybe you just need a betyter quality of friends and a better neighborhood.

So why don't you and you little friend shove that phony racist crap where the sun don't shine. It's not 1955 anymore.

I once suggested moving to one of the pro-gunsinpublic militia. They gave me some Rush L junk about one shouldn't have to move . . . . . . .

And, yes, most pro-gunners are right wingers. Look it up if you want stats. And, if you want to get into it where there might not be a lot of statistical evidence, I'd say most of the photos (like on one of the other top threads) appeal to right wingers more than the left. And, I don't think that is good for society in the long run.

33. "Pro guns in public places" - you mean like 48 states?
49 by the end of the year counting Wisconsin that's adding CCW.

You made the claim that most pro gun people are right wingers - you provide the back up for your phony claim. No wonder readers never take anything you write seriously.

Now go upstairs and take the garbage out like your mother has been asking you to do for the last two hours that you've been wasting down here trying to argue with the grown ups.
