Sarah Palin's gun-toting stalker arrested by FBI 50 miles from politician's home
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1363776/Sarah-Palins-stalker-Shawn-Christy-19-arrested-FBI-50-miles-home.html

A teenager who sent threatening letters to right-wing US politician Sarah Palin has been arrested in her home state of Alaska.

Shawn Christy, 19, from Pennsylvania, had been issued a court order in October warning him to keep away from the Republican former-vice presidential candidate.

But Mrs Palin's family have revealed that Mr Christy was held by the FBI in Anchorage, 50 miles from her home town of Wasilla. Authorities have ordered him to return to Pennsylvania.

Mr Christy had told family members he planned to travel to Wasilla to try and get the restraining order against him dismissed.

1. The delusional know their own
"Mrs Palin testified that Christy was delusional in his statements that he has had direct communication or contact with her or her daughter."

4. I'm not a Palin fan but this kid appears to have serious problems ...

He may need some serious help before he does something really stupid. People who wave red flags are all too often ignored with tragic results.

Of course the allegations have to be true.

8. Most gun owners do not believe that people with serious mental issues ...
should be allowed to own firearms. Nor do we believe that violent criminals should own firearms.

The is a possibility that this kid has mental issues that might lead to a tragedy somewhere down the line.

11. This story has been debunked previously.
An Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman also says they have no record of arresting Christy. A spokeswoman for the Anchorage Police Department, Anita Shell, also said her office had no record of contact with Christy.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0311/FBI_No_arrest_in_Palin_stalker_case.html#

In fact Christy DID fly up here on February 11 of this year, stayed 30 hours without once leaving Anchorage, and then flew back according to the Frontiersman. It also appears that he had clearance from the law enforcement before making the trip.
http://www.frontiersman.com/articles/2011/02/13/local_news/doc4d5770023e72e544575617.txt

However Chuck Heath's story is still mooseshit because while Christy was here he had NO contact with either the FBI or the APD as reported by Politico:

16. UPDATED: No record of FBI nabbing Palin stalker
Politico's Ben Smith reports that an original Daily Mirror report cited by Fox News (and cited in this blog post) that reported Shawn Christy had been arrested was wrong.

According to Politico's Smith, the Mirror report appeared to be an exaggeration of a statement Palin's father Chuck Heath made during an interview with the BBC :

-----

CH: A good example is one guy from Pennsylvania. He sent us and other people copies of a gun he'd bought, copies of a receipt for a gun he bought, copies of a one-way ticket to Anchorage. We kind of laugh it off, we got a restraining order on him, and lo and behold last week he showed up in Anchorage, from Pennsylvania, and fortunately the FBI was on top of it and sent him home.

Smith goes on to write that Eric Gonzalez, a spokesman for the FBI's Anchorage field office said the stories were false, and that an Alaska state police spokeswoman and a spokeswoman for the Anchorage Police Department had no record of any contact with Christy.
