10. Oh, you're just sore that the NRA agreed with much of what the President wrote...
Edited on Mon Mar-14-11 10:38 PM by aikoaiko
...while still putting pressure on him to improve.

13. Just listened to Lawrence O'Donnel
and he bashed the President. Is that a little better source for you?

11. Again...
If they don't agree with you, they must be racist.
If they have differing political viewpoints, they must be racists.
If that lady at McDonald's put onions on your burger when you specifically asked for no onions, she must be racist.

You really piss me off with comments like that. I have to deal with racism every day of my life and for you to just toss around racism to demonize something you disagree with is truly disgraceful. Racism is no joke, and it is not an ace in the hole for you to pull out every time you want to paint a bad face on something you dislike.

It is not some small trivial sticker that you get to place on everything you wish to portray as wicked to somehow hold your own opinion superior.

You true character shows when you make comments like that.

If that is all you got from that letter, you need a remedial reading course.

24. There was not one racist element in the article.
The article pointed out, correctly, that while it is heartening to hear President Obama claim to support the individual right to keep and bear arms, the fact is his political record, and his appointed advisors' records speak an entirely different story.

The article also points out that it is the NRA's position that the focus needs to be on criminals and mentally unstable people, not on guns.

Nothing in this article was regarding race.

9. Still looking for a "thank you" to the president for signing the Coburn and Wicker amendments
I would submit that the Obama Administration has been more pro-gun than the Bush Administration.

George W. Bush's Administration endorsed door to door confiscations of New Orleans gun owners weapons after the hurricane.

15.  Cite for proof?
I believe that the confiscation you speak of was ordered by, the Chief of Police in NO. A Democrat, and supported by the Mayor of NO, also a Democrat.

16. Wrong on all counts.
Bush pushed for and got the 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Obama voted against it.

The Katrina confiscations were ordered by the Democratic mayor and police chief.

17. Their opening paragraph is right on the money.
the discussion will never evolved to the degree needed to fix complex social issues such as crime and violence when the focus is purely on inanimate metallic objects.

20. Exactly trying to reduce crime by banning guns is like trying to reduce medical malpractice lawsuits
By banning scalpels.

22. AHSA no longer exists
It was a front group for VPC. they claimed to be a non extremist alternative to the NRA but they pretty much supported banning anything bigger than a bolt action .22
