(NewsCore) - TAMPA, Fla. -- A pint-sized Florida pageant queen shot and killed an intruder with her pink .38-caliber handgun during a violent home invasion, FOXNews.com reported Tuesday.

Meghan Brown, 25, fatally injured 42-year-old ex-convict Albert Franklin Hill on March 12 at the house she shares with her fiance in Tierra Verde, Fla.


Brown, who reigned as the 2009 Miss Tierra Verde, snatched her gun from a nearby bedroom and shot the suspect several times, hitting him in the chest, groin, thigh and back, her fiance said. Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hill had a criminal record stretching back nearly three decades -- including arrests for burglary, battery, drug possession and grand theft. Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Robbery/Homicide Unit are still investigating the crime but believe the motive was robbery, according to local press reports

A bit more caution opening the door, waking the other person before answering a 3 am knock, and grabbing a weapon instead of running straight to an altercation would have been wiser steps. Just illustrates that having a gun (or other defensive tool) isn't enough, you have to plan and prepare.

Reading to the bottom, the fiance sounds like kind of an ass - accusing the pizza deliverer because they sometimes paid with $100 bills? :wtf:

and it will turn out to be far more than a pure case of self defense by an average homeowner.
