Lady Gaga Fans Sound Off on Guns at Concerts
http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/news/politics/state_politics/lady-gaga-fans-sound-off-on-guns-at-concerts-03262011

Guns are already allowed in bars and restaurants in Arizona, but how about public venues like music concerts or sporting events? A bill making its way through the legislature opens the door for that to happen, and concert promoters aren't happy about it.

If this bill passes, some of the venues could opt out of it and continue to ban weapons, but they would still be required to screen people for them.

The bottom line for concert promoters -- the bill is bad public relations for their business.

At the US Airways Center in Phoenix Saturday night, fans dressed from head to toe in Lady Gaga gear. Fans FOX 10 spoke with had mixed feelings about guns in public venues.

1. Concealed (or not concealed) weapons at a concert. What could go wrong?

2. Mercy me!!!...
What's a poor Lady GaGa fan to do?

Not "GaGa" about guns

Almost 9 million YouTube viewers have seen Beyoncé and Lady Gaga – scheduled to perform on the Grammy Awards this Sunday – in their recent music video, “Video Phone.”

The music was fine, but I wonder why they went out of their way to glorify guns in their production. Beyond the sexual stereotype of guns in general, it’s hard to understand why they are in the video at all.

What’s more, Lady Gaga has been using fake machine guns as props in her live shows as well, pretending to shoot into the crowd.

3. Why do the promoters think that posting a no-guns sign ...
will stop criminals or people with dangerous mental issues from carrying a firearm to a concert?

That's just like putting a no-guns sign on the front door of your home. Honest visitors and friends may leave their guns in their car but criminals and people who are sick enough mentally to want to murder you will laugh at your sign.

8. She's an entertainer ...
her personal opinions on political issues are interesting but in no way more valid or important than the opinion of any other citizen.

Just because a person can sing or act does not make them instantly an expert on other subjects.
