Father claims 2-year-old son killed mother (FL)
http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/World/Story/STIStory_660575.html

A TODDLER in Florida has allegedly shot his mother by accident, his father told police.

Julia Bennet, 33, was found dead in her apartment by police who came immediately after the 911 call made by the father. They happened to be at the apartment for another case.

The couple have several children including the toddler, but were not legally married. The 2-year-old is now under the custody of Florida's Department of Children and Families.

Police announced that the father had a concealed weapon license and the gun belonged to him.

2. I'm sure VPC will add this to their tiny collection of cases against
CCW
Still there evidence shows that a CCW permit holder is 1/8 as likely to kill someone or commit suicide than the general public (from VPC data)

3. According to the gotta-carry-a-gun crowd, this stuff doesn't happen. Permit holders are saints.

4. What stuff, exactly? we don't even know the story here yet
And as far as "saints" and gotta-carry - the only ones saying things like that are you and people like you. Posters who care about accuracy don't make those claims...

5. We know he had CCW permit, either he shot his wife or he left gun where 2 yo could get it.

But, just for grins we'll wait until you come back with more details of how a CCW holder acted properly and everyone should tote a gun around so these incidents will happen more often.

You guys are something.

8. Except we don't claim CCWers are perfect.
We claim CCWers are vastly less crime prone than your average person.

The fact that these kinds of incidents get the antis all happy and giddy because comparatively they're rare.

10. Compare them to average person who could pass bground check but chooses not to pollute the public

with their guns.

You guys keep repeating those junk interpretation of select statistics, but that's not the point. You aren't better than the average person who could get a permit (might not be better than many who couldn't) -- maybe no worse, but that's for debate.

11. What proof do you need? Read the threads on this forum. If you are honest, you'll lock your gun up

and never carry it again.

12. "Honest"? You really need to look that word up, it can't possibly mean what you think it does...
