Royal wedding shows elitist hypocrisy of ‘gun control’
“A BODYGUARD dressed as a liveried footman will ride on William and Kate's wedding coach - with orders to act as "bullet catcher" in the event of an attack,” The Sun reports.

“The armed royal protection cop would be expected to hurl his body over William and sacrifice himself as a last resort to prevent the Prince being killed or wounded,” we are told.

Protection officers have also been told they will not be criticized if they draw their weapons in a false alarm.

The source said: "Better they have their weapons at the ready than react too late."

Compare that to what the commoners can expect in the disarmed UK

Looks like in the UK, it's just fine for royalty, the rich, and celebrities, to be protected with firearms.... but, thanks to gun control, regular folks are denied the same right..

If the antis in the US had their way, it would be the same way here. For that matter, some of the biggest gun control advocates travel with armed body guards. It's not only hypocritical, but denying others the same right that you yourself enjoy because of privilege, doesn't sound very progressive to me.

5. Well, that's an interesting response..
Instead of taking nonsense, why don't you join with the rest of the Americans who believe in the ENTIRE Bill of Rights and making sure the same kind of thing never happens here..

Either that, or give me a good reason why in the authoritarian gun control world, it's just fine for the well connected to defend themselves but it's not okay for regular folks..

4. If we behaved like the English, a lot more people would still be alive.
Guns are used more often for offense, not defense. Killing is a lot harder if you have to get up close and personal.

7. FYI: Our Second Amendment bailed them out.
Wir würden uns sprechen Deutsch, wenn wir Handelten ebenso wie die Briten.

But the term just takes on a scary meaning when you're talking about German.

8. Really? Your math is funny
Including suicides (16,000) you have about 31,000 deaths from firearms each year.

The most conservative (small c) estimate of defensive gun uses from the FBI and DoJ is around 80,000. Others run as high as 1 million +. That's about a 3 to 1 ratio of defensive use over murders.

Or are you using the Brady/Sugarmann "Factor" and just disallowing any reports of defensive gun use?

10. I don't care about the rest of the world's opinion
About our gun laws. Nor about free speech, or freedom of worship, or the 4th or 5th Amendments. Nor for that matter about any of our freedoms.

We have a system of government based on the idea of guaranteeing and protecting the rights of the individual. If you don't like that system, and want another type then start working to call a Constitutional Convention to draft a new form of government.

14. Really?
Stats to back that up?

Last time I looked there were approx. 1.5 million violent crimes reported each year, some 8% commited with firearms.

Surveys indicate 750K to 2.5M uses of firearms in defense per year, mostly without shots being fired. (Yeah, looks like a lot of crime probably isn't reported. Whodathunkit...)

Unless you got some actual numbers to bring up, you seem to be very incorrect.

That's England. I don't care what they do and who is getting married or to whom. Guns, no guns, that is theirs to decide, not ours.

15. That's the same thing the Secret Service protective details are supposed to do.
Takes a lot of guts to do something like that, for someone you may not like or agree with.
