Suspect jailed in shooting of 2 brothers in Fresno


FRESNO, Calif.—Fresno police say a man wanted in connection with a shooting that injured a 23-year-old man and his 5-year-old brother with the same bullet has turned himself in.

The Fresno Bee reports that 43-year-old Ernest Smith was booked in Fresno County Jail on Friday on suspicion of attempted murder and several other charges related to the May 16 incident.

Police say Smith got into a dispute with the older victim and shot him in the stomach. The bullet passed through the man's body and hit his younger brother in the mouth.
