What's REALLY Hiding Under the "Gun Rights" Sheet?
"Enthusiasts" are not even hiding it anymore...

"Gun rights advocates from all over the country are up in arms over what they consider a betrayal of their cause by the Gunslick Trap Club.
In the wake of Saturday's visit by Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, letters from as far as Michigan, Missouri and Wyoming were submitted to this newspaper criticizing the club.
The writers maintain the Gunslick Trap Club was duped into helping Kerry project a pro-gun image, even though he has a history of supporting what they consider infringements on gun rights.
"John Kerry is an extremist anti-gun advocate who, given the chance, would outlaw the civilian ownership of all guns, including even toy plastic 'cowboy type' guns. This is his history," a writer from Missouri writes. "Furthermore, he is an anti-hunting extremist and supports the goals of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Schultz said he shares Kerry's view that it is not an undue restriction of rights to keep people from owning assault rifles.
"You don't need a machine gun or a bazooka in your house," Schultz said."

3. Doesn't it, though?
Funny how the guy running the shooting gallery didn't seem concerned about Kerry "clowning" or being a public menace, isn't it? Why, you'd almost think that was a phony issue cooked up by folks pretending to be "pro gun democrats" or something.

5. Speaking od "pretending to be a pro-gun democrat...
From the article:

"Schultz, who is a Democrat and a member of the National Rifle Association, said the writers are misrepresenting Kerry.

"I don't think he's anti-gun by any means," Schultz said, noting that Kerry enjoys hunting.

Kerry told the press at the trap club Saturday he has no plans to propose new gun control measures, although better enforcement of existing laws is needed.

Schultz said he shares Kerry's view that it is not an undue restriction of rights to keep people from owning assault rifles.

"You don't need a machine gun or a bazooka in your house," Schultz said.

Another victim of VPC and MMM propaganda it seems. Well, that's where I agree with Mr. Schultz - and that's because the AWB that's going to sunset in 65 days doesn't cover machine guns and bazookas in the first place ya crazy old coot!

"PULL!"

6. I appluad this.
Kerry told the press at the trap club Saturday he has no plans to propose new gun control measures, although better enforcement of existing laws is needed.

I guess that means he's not going to sign a new AWB or close the so-called "gun show loophole". Good, that should get us a lot of gun-owners who want rid of the chimp regime.

4. The reality is:
I know a lot of shooters in the La Crosse (Onalaska) area.

I know for a fact that their District Attorney belongs to and regularly attends IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) and SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) competitions at at least one of the clubs I visit.

She’s not there to participate or get to know the people at these events – but to look for ways to shut down their entire facility. The people there go out of their way to be so nice to her, asking her if she wouldn’t like to maybe try shooting clay pigeons from a bench with a .22 rifle once, or maybe see what it’s like to shoot a handgun under the supervision of a Range Officer. She always just snips back, “No!” and walks along to the next shooting bay on her hunt for criminal activity.

Why do they accept her membership fees? Why don’t they vote her out of the club? It’s because they hope that if they’re nice enough to her, someday she’ll change.

Ask a "Guns Right Activist" if it would be OK to go to the range with him or her sometime - they always say "yes" (I know I do). We're really nice people if ya give us a chance.

From the article:

"I'm not even a Kerry supporter. That had no bearing on my thoughts," Bethke said. "If it had been Bush, I would have said the same thing. It's a public club. We don't have a sign at the entrance that says 'No Democrats allowed.'"

See? No sign saying "No Democrats Allowed" - I'm sure that dissapoints some of the people here in gungeon.

Which doesn't keep gun nuts from all over the country from lying their asses off about Kerry. Good thing we've got all our "pro-gun democrats" countering on those gun nut forums...oh, that's right, they're all over here, slandering John Kerry , posting right wing crap, and spouting excuses left and right why they can't go over there and say word one.

clicking on any of those links would require you to go over and look at the lie. And then any "debunking" that went on would have to be over there...

And then we wouldn't get lies about Kerry posted over here...where "pro gun democrats" seem to want them.

"If you had even an ouch of civility"
snicker

then some might consider it
Yeah, surrrrrrrrrrrrre....

By the way, it's worth noting that those bogus "Pink Pistols" sure don't seem very perturbed about the open bigotry and anti-gay slurs on those sort of sites....wonder why hahahahaha.

By the way, wonder why none of the other "millions" of "pro gun democrats" that OUR "pro gun democrats" insist are out there have answered those lies....

There's not even one pro-Democrat post...although we know from at least one link that the dittomonkeys there are lurking here...

16. I resent the implication that I wear a sheet
I wish to heaven you'd stop making this comparison. Suggesting that people who argue in favor of private weapon ownership are members of the Ku Klux Klan or the Nazi Party is in bad taste. Not only is this a logically invalid comparison to make (the genetic fallacy) it is insulting to people on this board and it is an affront to the memory of the thousands lynched and the millions gassed at the hands of the Klan and Nazis, respectively. I am left with the distinct impression that despite all your big talk about Nazis and racists and sheets and the like, that you really don't have a genuine understanding of what violent racial identity movements are all about.

By definition, racists do not support the right of minorities own weapons or to use force in self defense. Racists only allow the chosen few to own arms, and true motive is to disarm the 'undesirables' to make them easier to oppress. This is why so called Black Codes or Jim Crow made it a crime for a black or hispanic to own a gun or a knife, and why the Nazis stripped Jews of the same. There is little risk involved in lynching a man who cannot shoot back. One black man with a gun may not be able to stop an entire white lynch mob, but at the very least he's take some of the racist SOBs with him.

Sol I guess you'll just have to console yourself with the actual fact that the racist fuckwits who offend you so pretend they support "gun rights" for everyone...

...and that Martin Luther King brought down Jim Crow without toting a gun around...although some asswipe with a gun shot him. And that pretty much every civil rights group around ended up on the National Rifle Association's hate list.

23. Non-sequitur
I am not talking about the NRA and I'm not talking about Dr. King. Please do not dodge the question. I'm talking about you painting people as nazis and klansmen, wearing sheets and all. I do not resent it; in fact I have come to expect it. It is not just a matter of criticism of Democrats which is allowed under the posting rules within certain parameters. Uncivil and disrespectful posts are not. Calling people nazis and racists is quite uncivilized and disrespectful. We're required to treat all posters on the board with respect even those, *especially* those with whom we disagree.

If you don't like your playmates, don't come crying to me...

I've pointed out more than once that there are openly racist and bigoted posts on gun nut forums, and been treated to a host of excuses as to why our "pro gun democrats" cannot be expected to say anything remotely liberal or pro-democrat.

If you don't like what the "gun rights" crowd is saying out loud, don't bitch to me.
