CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Police were searching Tuesday for a man believed to be part of a trio that killed a convenience store worker with a knife, robbed a woman in the drive-thru lane at one restaurant and attempted to rob a woman at another.

The other alleged members of the trio, both women, were in custody after police caught them early Tuesday, said Capt. John Moseley. They had not yet been charged.

Investigators said Pablo Castro, 46, was fatally stabbed late Monday after being cornered as he took out the trash. Lt. Kenneth Ersland said Castro, who had been employed at the store for 10 years, was robbed of $1.25. He said witnesses told police that two of the attackers repeatedly kicked Castro after he had been stabbed.

Moseley said the suspects did not try to rob the store.

Ersland said a vigil was held for Castro at the store Tuesday night. He described Castro, who worked as a stocker and did other jobs at the store, as the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Castro and his wife have three children, he said.

1. That is sooo sad to think that people can do this. I have a
sneaky suspicion that drugs were also involved in this. I am not talking about the victims. I am stating that the robbers were probably high on something to do this. sad

3. Most likely...
on the news they interviewed the murderer's grandmother, she plead for him to turn himself in and all that.

She said she thought he was probably on drugs and that the family hadnt heard from him since two weeks prior to this.

I'd post a link for this, but the there is none.

That being said I still dont have a problem with people doing drugs, I think they should still be legal. People who commit crimes while on drugs should not get a lighter sentance because of it.

Not that killings and murders arent unhead of down there, but this has gotten alot more local news coverage.
