richmond police chief wants ban renewed.
Edited on Sun Sep-12-04 11:40 PM by JibJab

a few tidbits from the article..

"According to federal crime statistics, since the passage of the ban, the incidence of assault weapons traced to crimes has dropped 66 percent."

"Richmond police officers face enough danger on the job every day without having to face military style assault weapons and high capacity magazines," Parker said.

66 percent. let's watch it rise back up again, eh? enjoy your newfound 'freedom'.

4. Thats a shame.
It was so full of obviously useful information like how use of weapons manufactured before 1994 accounted for 66% less crimes in 2004 than they did in 1994.

Speaking of circle jerks no one starts GITN threads anymore.

12. The 66 percent drop means nothing
Certain firearms became scarce and therefore more valuable starting in 1994. It should come as no surprise that their use in crime diminished.

The real question is: What changes in OVERALL crime or overall gun-related crime can be attributed to the effects of the ban.

The answer is: None.
