Here's a quote from the platform:

"We will protect Americans' Second Amendment right to own firearms, and we will keep guns out of the hands of criminals and
terrorists by fighting gun crime, reauthorizing the assault weapons ban, and closing the gun show loophole"

Now, the platform states that people have a right to own arms. Even people like myself and Mrs Peters agree some guns should be allowed in the home. However, John Kerry clearly agrees with me and my colleges in the following:

-Bans should be added to the current ones, the AWB is an example of this position

-New restrictions should be put on gun sales, the like the gunshow loophole.

I just provided literature to prove some of Kerry's intentions, now I invite anyone to post anything he has posted in which he defines the right to own firearms as the right to own a firearm for SELF-DEFENSE! The sportsman's bill of rights he wrote clearly states he supports the second amendment as a tool to protect HUNTING guns.

Now, there won't be a ban on pumps and levers any time soon, but I think we can conclude that Kerry does share the common sense vision that people don't need guns for self-defense, and thus banning handguns and semi-automatic weapons is a must.

for self defense. If you feel as though Assault Weapons are necessary for self defense, then you may believe you have to defend yourself against hordes of crazed . I would like to know just whom has had to do a Rambo style shoot-em-up in their home or business.
