Gun shop robberies put more illegal guns on the streets in Michigan
http://www.detnews.com/2004/metro/0412/11/D08-29646.htm

The fact that these gun shop robberies have put more guns in the hands of criminals is even scarier when you consider that Midland is not too far from Decker, Michigan, where Tim McVeigh and the Nichols brothers practiced their acts of war before carrying them out. If the robberies ARE being committed by the "militia types", then it's a good bet that they already have tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition just waiting to be fired through those guns. If the robbers are NOT the militia types, then they'll have to go to Walmart to buy their ammunition, no questions asked.

Brazen thieves storm gun shops for arms

MIDLAND -- A brazen crew of thieves is suspected of breaking into gun shops in three mid-Michigan counties during the past month and stealing 41 weapons, including many handguns.

Owners of some firearms stores are so concerned they have armed themselves and their employees.

"There are times I would get comfortable and not feel I have to carry all the time," said Sue Bare, owner of Bare's, a shooting-sports retailer in St. Charles. "Now I'm carrying all the time. All the guys are carrying inside. We all come prepared in the morning. Everybody's a little bit surer that they come prepared, because you never know what you're going to meet."

Things have gotten so scary that gun shop owners are arming themselves?
