Man beaten is charged with 2deg murder
(Mods, sorry I had to snip the entire article, but it's so short any editing will remove material information)

I think a lot of the story is missing, like why did he have a gun at the bar in the first place? Why did the guy beat him with the cue?

MIAMI -- A Miami Beach man was shot to death Saturday night after attacking another man with a pool cue in a bar, police said.

The incident began about 10:30 p.m. in a bar at 2800 North Miami Ave. in Miami. Witnessses told police that the victim, Ector Urraco, 37, of 625 Marrida St. in Miami Beach, approached another man, Freddy Fernanadez, 33, in the bar and began beating him with a pool cue, Miami Police spokesman Delrish Moss said.

That's when Fernandez pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots into Urraco's chest and into the ceiling of the bar before running away, Moss said. Other bar patrons chased Fernandez as he ran and tore off his clothes. When they captured him a short time later, he was dressed only in his underwear.

Police charged Fernandez, of 5550 NW Miami Pla. in Miami, with second degree murder, Moss said. Urraco died at the scene.

1. Sounds like he may have a case for justifiable homicide
I believe that, even in Florida, a pool cue can be considered a deadly weapon, similar to a baseball bat or other club. I don't know if Mr. Fernandez was carrying his pistol legally, but I believe the shooting will probably be ruled justifiable in the end.
