Hamas cell abducts and kills Jerusalem man
A Hamas cell has abducted and killed a man from the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Pisgat Ze'ev, security forces said Monday.

Security forces found Sasson Nuriel's body Monday morning, in an industrial zone west of the West Bank city of Ramallah, after several days of searches. Before dawn Monday, they arrested a Hamas man in Ramallah suspected of involvement in the abduction.

The Shin Bet security service classified the incident as a terror attack.

Nuriel's wife reported him missing around midnight Wednesday, after he failed to come home from work. The Shin Bet said he was kidnapped Wednesday afternoon.

Makes me wonder what kind of new "truce" this is. He was kidnapped Wednesday, so if there is this new truce by Hamas....

They killed him before the truce?

7. The point seems simply to have been...
...that the part of Jerusalem he was kidnapped from is occupied and not part of Israel. It takes a real extreme stretch to read the post as saying he deserved to be killed because of it...

The poster didn't bother to expand on his post, leaving us to conclude his point on our own. So either he's trying to give out free information bulletins - which we already know - or he thinks the victim somehow "deserved" it.

8. Two possibilities
1) it was a PSA (Public service announcement)

2) you get what you deserve for living in a dangerous place

10. Something about this case doesn't sound right -
How do the police know that Nuriel was murdered by Hamas members?
If it was Hamas, wouldn't they say that they did it, & try to make
a political point, have there been any claims by Hamas about this
case? If there are no claims by Hamas, I think that raises the possibility
that this was not 'terrorism', it was purely a criminal matter.
Have Hamas ever been shy about claiming responsibility for
the murder of Israeli citizens, why would they deny involvement in
this instance? I think that the un-named suspect who was arrested &
revealed the location of Nuriel's body may be the only guilty party
here.

Hamas claims Jerusalem man's killing

Tuesday 27 September 2005, 13:47 Makka Time, 10:47 GMT

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and killing of a Jerusalem businessman who was found dead on Monday.

The resistance fighters said in a statement that they had kidnapped 51-year-old Sasson Nuriel, whom they had identified as a Shin Bet security service agent, on Wednesday.

They had intended to trade him for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

However, after Israel began a series of arrest raids against West Bank resistance fighters, they decided to kill him, the statement said on Tuesday.
