Report: Pakistan willing to accept quake aid from Israel, Jewish groups
akistan has signaled its willingness to accept aid from both Israel and American Jewish groups, President of the American Jewish Congress Jack Rosen said Wednesday, days after a massive earthquake in Kashmir killed at least 30,000 people.
Israel had offered its assistance shortly after the earthquake struck.
We've expressed a desire to help, and we're hopeful that it will be possible to help," said Mark Regev, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, said Sunday.
Israel - which has sent rescue teams to Turkey and Mexico to assist in evacuation efforts after earthquakes struck those countries - sent a message to Pakistan through "official channels" and the United Nations, said a senior government official.
