So Iran has threatened Israel
As many here who have known me over the years know, I am a major critic of Israel.

The statement by Iran, "The State of Israel should be wiped off the map" was beyond the pale and has demonstrated a decided agression against Israel. In my humble opinion, Israel, and any allies of Israel, would fully be within their rights to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran's nuclear capabilities after such a statement.

7. Let just say
after World War 2 some people decide to take an easy way out.
Create a country for the unwanted Jews.

That is basically the cause of the whole problems

It is right of take the land from other people to then house people that you dont want in your country.

Hilter start Jews persecution on a global scale and till today it is still happening.

Bush started smearing the Islamic people on a Global scale. What a disaster. This sadly will be his legacy one that will be inherited by the future generations.

Your reaction is also the result of propoganda and so is the reaction of the Islamic people.

You think good will be the result of all this garbage spewing.
You think this world will be much safer from all this
You think that this will all end tommorrow

I am just sadden at the scope of damage cause by Leaders in this world with mentally taxed decision and statements.

The bottomline is that we the people are the one that suffer for all this.

2. Not Much New Here
Many of Israel's enemies have long made statements that Israel should be wiped off the map, pushed into the sea, etc.

Then, when Israel takes (admittedly, sometimes drastic) measures to defend itself, it gets criticized.

Military action will inevitably cause civilian casualties.

Iran's statement was stupid (among other things), because it gives Israel more justification for using military action. How can you have peace with some one who doesn't think you have a right to exist?

5. Hopefully!
Best case scenario, they fly the jets (over Iraq whose air space we control), The U.S. vetoes any potential complaints in the Security Council.

Unftrunately, you have buffoons running foreign policy who have no clue about the nuances of using U.N. procedures to you and your allie's advantage.

6. I saw that yesterday and wondered
what the hell they were thinking. Are they trying to martyr themselves? Like you I'm not a big fan of Israeli policy(kinda wierd for a Jew) but statements like that are just daring Bush to try out his new bunker busters on them.

8. Israel's best defense isn't a preemptive strike.
Iran's facilities are probably beyond the scope of a surgical strike.

Israel's best defense is good old fashioned deterrence.

Iran tries a major attack on Israel, and Tehran glows for a year.

9. But hasn't Israel been trying to get rid of all the rulers in it's
neighboorhood? Talk is cheap. Meanwhile Israel seems to be getting rid of all the Palestinians through genocide. Time to spank everyone there and get them to a peace table.

10. The U.N already settled this dispute back in the
late 50's I believe. Israel refuses to abide by the ruling and is illegally occupying Palestinian land. Funny, when Saddam refused to abide by U.N. sanctions we bombed the hell out of Iraq.

11. At least
you know what is happening.

The double standard.

Sadly this will all drag on.

Cause decision is not base on right or wrong

But self interest

A hundred years from now they still be fighting

As for Iraq it is a generational commitments

You started it you own it

Compare to the disaster of Vietnam, Iraq will make Vietnam looks like Heaven.

12. Nothing like a little over-reaction on your part? I LOVE that iran has
told israel the terrorists to fuck off.

Just boys kicking sand.

If I slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people whenever someone wished I was dead (for being a libera) there'd be no one left alive.

13. Whenever a perrson makes death threats against another person
the law has been broken and defensive measures can be taken, such as prosecution.

Whenever one nation makes overt threats to another nation, war ensues.

Thus it has always been in history.

14. Statement from Kerry on this
The following is a statement from John Kerry on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Statements on Israel:

“Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s statement that Israel ‘must be wiped off of the map’ is beyond outrageous and unacceptable. His hateful words about our ally Israel must be condemned in the strongest possible terms all over the world.

“This is more than reprehensible rhetoric from the head of the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. It reflects a belief in violence that has no place in the civilized world. On the same day that Ahmadinejad said ‘there is no doubt that the new wave in Palestine will soon wipe off this disgraceful blot from the face of the Islamic world,’ a suicide bomber from Islamic Jihad, an organization reportedly supported by Iran, killed five Israelis and wounded dozens more in Hadera.

Or is the Iranian guy begging *, by proxy, to wipe him off the map?
