Prospective Palestinian Premier Says U.S. Must Press Israel

RAMALLAH, West Bank, Sept. 8 — Ahmed Qurei, the man who might become Palestinian prime minister, said today that for him to succeed in that post, the Bush administration would have to press Israel to restrain its military and to "change their way of dealing with President Arafat."

"These are requirements for the success of this mission," said Mr. Qurei, who was nominated for the prime ministership by Yasir Arafat on Saturday. "I will not accept to be a failure."

Mr. Qurei, the speaker of the Palestinian Parliament, would follow Mahmoud Abbas, who resigned as prime minister over the weekend. Mr. Abbas blamed Israel for his resignation, saying that it had undermined his government, but he also told Palestinian legislators that Mr. Arafat had not given him enough support.

"dismantle" hamas and all terror groups??

and I don't know.

Of course, I think that Sharon should open the gate and tear down the wall, to borrow a phrase from Reagan, and also dismantle the settlements and halt settlement growth like he promised to do. He should also loosen checkpoints to aid Palestinian freedom of movement.

with these thugs reached an understanding with these murderers

and he has reached a new "HUDNA" and THIS TIME they "really,really

mean it".

4. Ahmed should see to it that hamas and other terror groups are eliminated

If he would show that leadership to the world then he would have a better soapbox from which to make demands. How gracious of him to suggest that arafat may not have been 100% perfect.

6. Well, the terrorist leaders and their bases are getting their just rewards

The settlements will be ready built turn-key homes for someone after the security of Israel is secured by eliminating the hamas garbage. There will be no giving away land until the terrorists are sent packing or sent away for a dirt nap.
